James “Jim” H. Gossens, age 88 of Clintonville, passed away Wednesday afternoon January 3, 2024 at the ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

James Herman Gossens was born on December 8, 1935 as the son of the late Arthur and Catherine (Wynboom) Gossens. He graduated from Kimberly High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1958 – 1960. Jim met Eileen Neely on a blind date and the rest was history as they say. The couple wed on October 23, 1974 and resided in Clintonville ever since. For 36 years Jim traveled to Appleton Paper for work each day and he retired in the late 1990s. He was a faithful member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville as well as Riverside Golf Course and enjoyed curling couples at the Clintonville Curling Club for a few years with Eileen. When Jim was a young man he enjoyed hunting, but as the years went by his focus shifted to fishing which allowed him many fond memories of time spent at their cabin on North Twin Lake in northern Wisconsin. He also loved to golf and spend the winter months in Sebring, FL leading to many friendships and countless good times throughout his life. His love for his nieces and nephews was obvious as he looked forward to spending time with each of them. His deep voice and strength will be missed by those left behind but there is solace in knowing he is safely home with his Lord and Savior.

Survivors include: His wife: Eileen Gossens.

Nieces & Nephews: David (Mary) Hermsen, Karen (Dan) Pitchers, Lisa (Mike) Nass, Jeri (Jim Spelman) Yoder, Jacki (Steve) Johnson, Brad (Diana) Friis, Andrea (Chris) Melk, and Julie (Dan) Braun.

Numerous great-nieces & great-nephews, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law including special in-laws Dona Neely, Mike Friis, and Heather Neely.
