Alice E. Hammen Sep 26, 1936 ~ Dec 2, 2023 (age 87)

Alice E. Hammen, 87, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 2, 2023. She was born on September 26, 1936 to Jacob and Edna (Kerkhoff) Van De Loo in Hollandtown. On August 13, 1957, Alice was united in marriage to Jim Hammen at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown.

Alice was a strong woman, a good cook and enjoyed knitting, especially Christmas stockings for all her grandchildren. She loved her flowers and always had hummingbirds at her feeders. She also enjoyed fishing with her husband Jim and playing cribbage. Most of all she loved having her family around and making special memories with them.

Alice is survived by her children; Rose (Mike) Bogard, Jean (special friend, Glenn Frank) Grant, Patty Weyenberg, Gail (Gary) Weyenberg, Phil (Kelly) Hammen, Lynn (Randy) Wenham and Jim (Sue) Hammen; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren, siblings; Theresa Van Zeeland, Mary Lois (Frank) Lamers, Eunice Micke, Sandra (Don) Smelling, Lola Van De Loo, Victor (Mary Jane) Van De Loo and Donald (Barbara) Van De Loo brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Joan Driessen, Bob Hammen, and Ike Hammen, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, son-in-law, Larry Grant, siblings; Robert (Della) Van De Loo, Eugene Van De Loo, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Maurice (Marie), Ambrose (Ceil), Izzy (Helen), Ernie (Eunice), Bill Hammen, Janice Hammen, Marie (Paul) Balgie, Agnes (Eddie) Schuler, Gerry (Fritz) Keyzers, Florence (Eddie) Poppe and Doris (Butch) Vosters, Roger Micke and Ves Van Zeeland and Ken Driessen.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating.
