Yvonne E. Ebben November 9, 1936 ~ May 19, 2023 86 Years Old

Yvonne E. (Huss) Ebben, age 86, passed away on May 19, 2023, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s and succumbed to a heart issue. She was born on November 9, 1936, daughter of the late Elmer and Bernetta (Van Asten) Huss. Von married Edward Ebben on June 7, 1958, just short of 65 years ago.

Von worked for McCarty Law for 26 years as a legal secretary. She was an active member of the Outagamie County Legal Secretaries Association and served on various committees for many years. Von also volunteered at NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and Meals on Wheels. She was a board member for the area ADRC (Aging and Disability Resource Center) and was a study participant in the Women’s Health Initiative at UW-Madison for over 20 years.

Von was a talented musician and in her youth was a member of the Little Chute Drum and Bugle Corps. She gave accordion and piano lessons to many learning musicians. Von enjoyed the family trips to northern Wisconsin every summer and golfing regularly. Ed and Von traveled by car all over the U.S. and Canada for 13 years after they retired. She was a great mother and grandmother. She traveled to Minneapolis often to attend grandchildren’s activities and special occasions and never missed a birthday.

After retiring Von fulfilled a dream and began taking art classes which resulted in many beautiful watercolor paintings.

Von is survived by her loving husband, Ed Ebben; daughters: Ann Ebben of Little Chute and Lynn (John) Green of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: Ethan Green and Erin (Kevin) Mealey; great granddaughter, Mara Mealey; siblings: Mike (Shirley) Huss, Wayne Huss and Pam (Rick) Vander Bloemen; brother-in-law, Ken Ebben; sister-in-law, Mary Ebben; numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Von was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Bernetta Huss; Ed’s parents, John and Florence (Pud) Ebben; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Richard (Jackie) Ebben, Paul (Dori) Ebben, Gerald (Rita) Ebben, Joan Ebben and Tom Ebben.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home Little Chute Location, 101 Canal Street. Funeral services follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Private interment will be in St. John Cemetery at a later date.
