Roger Francis “Duke” Brooks, Kaukauna, passed away March 16th, 2023. The youngest of 16 children, he was born on April 18, 1942, to the late Henry and Mary (Brochtrup) Brooks. On May 25, 1968, he married Alice Bowers. As a youth, he volunteered many hours of service to St. Patrick’s Church. He attended Grade School in Askeaton and Wrightstown High School. Roger served in the Army & later began his career at Badger Northland where he met many lifelong friends. He had a passion for cars, antiques, & “treasures” that he shared with his grandchildren.
Roger will be deeply missed by his wife Alice; son Mark (Kris) Brooks & their family: Boden, Kaleb, Amaya; daughter Connie (Kevin) Brick & their family: Lindsay (Joel) D’Souza, Eric Vanden Boogard, Kim Vanden Boogard (Amos) & great grandchildren; son-in-law Matt Marquardt & his family: Nicholas, Koy and Ella. He is further survived by his siblings Janet (Jacob) Huber; Elizabeth “Betty” (Marv) Rademacher; sisters-in-law Judie Brooks; Betty (Jim) Munier; Karen Bowers; family friend Rod Friday; as well as other numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws Ralph and Frankie Bowers; his daughter Brenda Marquardt; his siblings, John "Wilmer" (Helen) Brooks; Mary (Paul) Skell; Joe (Betty) Brooks; Adrian Brooks; Rose Ann (Fred) Ponschock; Sister Mary Henry Brooks; Richard Brooks; Theresa (John) (Shirley) Kemkes; Virginia "Jeanie" Brooks; Jacob Brooks; Franklin (Janelle) Brooks; Henry L. Brooks; Father Charles Brooks; brother-in laws, Jack (Jean) Bowers and Tom Bowers; and sister-in-law Janice Vande Hey.
Friends may call from 4:00PM – 8:00PM Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Hollandtown, 439 Cty CE, Kaukauna. A prayer service will take place at 7:30PM. Visitation will continue from 10:00AM – 11:45AM Wednesday at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00PM with Fr. Don Everts officiating. Military rites will be conducted following mass. Burial will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery, Askeaton. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.
