Jim M. Hammen, age 89, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on January 29, 2023. He was born on August 16, 1933, son of the late William and Anna (Dercks) Hammen. Jim married Alice Van De Loo on August 13, 1957, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown.

Jim was a true outdoorsman. His passion was fishing and hunting. Jim enjoyed playing cribbage and spending time at the cottage. He was the most happy when spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his wife, Alice Hammen; children: Rose (Mike) Bogard, Jean (special friend, Glenn Frank) Grant, Patty Weyenberg, Gail (Gary) Weyenberg, Phil (Kelly) Hammen, Lynn (Randy) Wenham and Jim (Sue) Hammen; 19 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; sister, Joan Driessen; brother, Bob Hammen; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ike Hammen, Theresa Van Zeeland, Mary Lois (Frank) Lamers, Eunice Micke, Sandra (Don) Smelling, Lola Van De Loo, Victor (Mary Jane) Van De Loo and Donald (Barbara) Van De Loo; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Hammen; son-in-law, Larry Grant; brothers: Maurice (Marie), Ambrose (Ceil), Izzy (Helen), Ernie (Eunice) and Bill Hammen; sisters: Marie (Paul) Balgie, Agnes (Eddie) Schuler, Gerry (Fritz) Keyzers, Florence (Eddie) Poppe and Doris (Butch) Vosters; brothers and sisters-in-law: Janice Hammen, Robert (Della) Van De Loo, Eugene Van De Loo, Roger Micke and Ves Van Zeeland.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating.
