Obituary

James “Jim” Van Lankvelt age 86, of Little Chute, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Jim, also known as “Jim the worker”,“Cucks” and “Slippery”, was born on August 27, 1934 in Little Chute son of the late Theodore and Henrietta (Pennings) Van Lankvelt. He graduated from St. John Catholic High School in 1953. After serving his country in the U.S. Army he went to work for 42 years at Kimberly Clark and retired as a pipefitter from Midtec. Jim married Audrey Sanderfoot on October 1, 1960 at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. Jim enjoyed traveling with Audrey and especially enjoyed visiting Jim’s brother in Texas. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his wife Audrey; his children; Joe Van Lankvelt, Steve (Sheila) Van Lankvelt, Kristy (Mickie) Hipp and Karla (Lance) Smith. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Austin and Dillon Van Lankvelt, Amanda (Bob Barron) Van Lankvelt, Katelyn Van Lankvelt, KyLey and MicKayla Hipp, Nathan, Elise and Erja Smith. He is further survived by his brother, Larry (Carol) Van Lankvelt; sister-in-law, CuCa Van Lankvelt and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by an infant daughter; his siblings, Wilbur (Eleanore) Van Lankvelt, Delores (Wally) Schmidt, Harvey (Mildred) Van Lankvelt, Jerome Van Lankvelt, Joan (Bill) Landerman, Roger Van Lankvelt, Carol (Ron) Diedrich, and Sharon (Andy) Stumpf. He is further preceded in death by in-laws, Shirley (Phil) Van Lankvelt, Richard (Ruby) Sanderfoot and Robert Sanderfoot.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery with military honors performed by the Jacop Coppus American Legion Post 258.
