Lois A. Weinfurter ay 2, 1928 — August 4, 2023 Appleton

Lois (Eloise) (Van Laanen) Weinfurter, age 95, was peacefully called home to the Lord on August 3, 2023, while surrounded by her children. Lois was born in Bay Settlement, Wisconsin on May 2, 1928, daughter to the late John and Ida Van Laanen. Lois grew up on the family farm in Bay Settlement with her brothers and sisters and was the tenth of eleven children of John and Ida.

Lois was united in marriage to Donald Weinfurter on May 30, 1949, at St. Willebrord Church in Green Bay Wisconsin sharing 47 wonderful years together until Don’s passing in 1996. During that time, they owned and operated Weinfurter Accounting for 35 years until retiring in 1989. In her retirement years, she volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Society Thrift Shop for over 25 years. She was blessed having eight children and was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Lois had a strong spirit and a glowing personality, bringing laughter into every conversation and joy with everyone she met. She was a devoted business owner and mother, and always strived for her family’s needs.

Survivors include children: Judith Thompson, Diane Kirschbaum, Lynn (Tony) Wassman, Mark (Bunny) Weinfurter, Greg (Ingrid) Weinfurter, and foster daughter Nancy Ostrowski. Grand Children include Shenandoah Carpenter Million, Cheyenne Carpenter, William Kirschbaum, Michael Weinfurter, Amy Weinfurter, Wolfgang Weinfurter and Kyle Weinfurter along with many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, brothers and sisters, Lois is preceded in death by an infant son Daniel, an infant daughter Cheryl and daughter Cindy (Daniel) Carpenter (56).

A private ceremony and entombment will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
