It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Mitchell Huben, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the age of 33 due to natural causes.
Mitchell grew up in Seymour and lived in Menasha. His compassionate personality touched the lives of those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mitchell began his career at Fleet Farm, where he stayed from 2006 until 2012. Mitchell then joined his work family at Neenah Paper for eleven years, where he made a lasting impact on his coworkers and friends. He was known for his willingness to help others. Mitchell had a kind and selfless nature, always ready to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in need.
Mitchell's greatest joy in life was being a father to his children, Lee and Tessa. He loved them deeply and dedicated himself to their happiness and well-being. Mitchell's love for his children and strong bond with them will always be remembered by those who saw the love they shared.
Apart from his dedication to his family, Mitchell found solace in the outdoors. If Mitchell was not at home or work he could be found walking in the woods, his hunting shack, or in his fishing boat. Mitchell also had a creative side and started his own business crafting custom items, particularly pens. His attention to detail and craftsmanship were evident in every piece he made.
Mitchell's memory will be cherished by his beloved children, extended family, and friends. He is survived by his children, Lee and Tessa. Additionally, he leaves behind his former spouse, Sara Vande Hei, with whom he shared a significant part of his life. He is also mourned by his loving parents, Don and Kris (Watermolen), his sister Emily and her husband Paul Ashman, his nephews, Jacob and Adrian, and his grandparents, Gary and Jan (Dollar Watermolen) Heiden. Mitchell will be deeply missed by his aunts and uncles, Todd and Karri (Watermolen) Wendt, and Arlyn and Carol (Huben) Wilinski. Mitchell's loss is felt by his cousins, Lucas and Kara (Van De Hei) Wendt with their children Mason and Kaleb, Luke and Rachael (Wendt) Kimball with their children Jackson and Lily, and Jennifer Wilinski, as well as many other relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to know him. Mitchell is preceded in death by his grandparents Rose and Donald Huben and his aunt Colleen Huben.
Mitchell chose to be an organ donor, and his selfless decision saved and/or improved the lives of 80 people in need. His act of kindness brought hope and healing to those who received his organs. His legacy will always be remembered for the lives he touched and the difference he made.
A visitation will be held at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. All friends, family, and those touched by Mitchell's warmth and kindness are invited to attend and pay their respects.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the remarkable safety team at Neenah Paper, the exceptional paramedics, and the compassionate staff at ThedaCare. Your unwavering efforts and commitment in trying to bring Mitchell back to us during his time of need will forever be remembered and cherished.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to a trust fund set up for Lee and Tessa's education. This is a meaningful way to honor Mitchell's unwavering commitment to his children's future.
