Clark R. Bongers, 69, went to eternal life on Thursday, November 17th , 2022. He was born in Little Chute on January 22nd, 1953, to the late Robert and Rosemary (Schampers) Bongers. He graduated from St. John’s High School in 1976. From there he went to work for Thilmany’s Pulp & Paper for 44 years until his retirement in 2014. He enjoyed spending summers in Crandon at the family cottage on Lake Metonga. Clark liked to fish and enjoyed time in the boat. In his younger days he loved to waterski and actually mastered how to ski barefoot. Clark enjoyed attending the Crandon Brush Run race on Labor Day weekends. He especially enjoyed his time spent with Jim and Kim Odekirk at The Flying “O” Farm in Argonne, WI where he enjoyed many adventures throughout the Northwood’s in a dune buggy. Also numerous horse and buggy rides along logging trails.
Clark was taught at the early age of nine how to weld by his dad Bob. An activity he continued into adult life by welding basketball poles and other crafty things. He also used the talent to make and design a full size dune buggy for his son Kyle. Unfortunately, later in his life his health issues made a lot of things he enjoyed difficult.
Clark is survived by his son Kyle along with nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Clark is preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles. Visitation for Clark will be held on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Verkuilen Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute, WI 54140.
