Rebecca M. Stedl, age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2023. She was born on October 19, 1946 to Joseph and Rita (Dewildt) Vander Weyst.
Becky was a graduate of St. John’s in Little Chute. On May 31, 1969 she married Jessie Stedl. Becky worked as a waitress throughout her life and will be remembered for her amazing work ethic. She loved cooking and baking for her family and watching them partake in sports and other activities over the years. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, tending to her flowers and gardening, and spending time with her very good friend, Dick Williams.
Becky is survived by her son, Shanon (Ann) Stedl; granddaughter, Allie Rose Stedl; step grandchildren: Brooke (Matt) Stormer and Jared Mayer; step great grandchildren: Paisley and Wesley Stormer; siblings: Rachel (Dave) Annis, Bill (Pat) Vander Weyst, Rose (Don) Kasten, and Bob (Paula) Vander Weyst; and special in-laws: Kalla and Larry Spaeth.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Rita Vander Weyst; her son, Shane Stedl; special friend, Dick Williams; and her former in-laws: Victor and Arlean Stedl.
A memorial service for Rebecca will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal St., Little Chute. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. and will continue until the time of the service.
