La Verne Van Lankvelt, age 100, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2023. She was born on December 14, 1922 to the late John and Gertrude Look in Little Chute, WI.
La Verne was a graduate of St. John High School Class of 1940. On May 14, 1946 she married the love of her life, Henry M. Van Lankvelt. La Verne’s passion in life was her family. Being a grandmother and great grandmother was her greatest joy and she loved visiting and hearing stories about them. La Verne was a very dedicated Catholic and was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church for many years.
La Verne is survived by her sons: Richard (Vicki) Van Lankvelt, Mark Van Lankvelt, and Carl (Carol) Van Lankvelt; her grandchildren: Kathryn (Daniel), Kristen (Jade), Jessica (Paul), Laura (Torrey), Rachel (Ben), Cole (Caitlin), and Ryan (Tansy); her great grandchildren: Evan, August, Xander, Jaxson, Cody, David, Lillian, Gavin, Sophia, Violet, Abigail, Greyson, and Henry; as well as her sister, Joan Regli. La Verne is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her daughter, Pauline; siblings: Lea Dunn, Joe (Rosella) Look, and Thomas Look; and her brother-in-law, Fred Regli. She was further preceded in death by her former spouse, Jack Geigle, as well as many extended family members and friends.
Private family services will be held for La Verne and she will be laid to rest in St. John Cemetery. Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
