Donna M. Uitenbroek, age 81, peacefully passed into the Lord’s arms, as her family surrounded her. She died on Palm Sunday, March 28, 2021, after a long struggle with dementia at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. Donna was born on January 1, 1940, to the late Norbert and Cecelia (Verhagen) Meulemans, Wrightstown. She married Paul Uitenbroek on June 11, 1959 and enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Together they raised five children in the family Homestead in Darboy.

Donna grew up in Wrightstown and graduated from St. Joe’s Academy, Green Bay in 1958. She worked at Appleton Papers until her children were born. Donna belonged to Holy Angels Parish Christian Mothers and volunteered for many various school and parish activities, the latest being the Scrip Program. She was also the bookkeeper for Paul Uitenbroek Plastering, and was Paul’s right hand. Donna took an active role as the main leader of Darboy Ever-Alert West 4-H Club. Her involvement in 4-H touched many children throughout the community. Donna loved to cook and bake! As an avid recipe collector, Donna would frequently make new dishes for her family. Sunday after Mass her family loved to gather for her infamous Sunday brunches, with homemade bread. Christmas candy making, monster cookies and strudel were traditions. Her passion and joy was her family, and she greatly enjoyed those weekly gatherings with all 12 grandkids and 6 great-grandkids, with 7th on the way. She was an avid reader/collector of information to share with all. Other interests included: genealogy, traveling, sewing, square dancing, gardening, cribbage/cards, family camping, photography, accordion and piano playing. She had a giving, graceful heart of gold and left a beautiful legacy and example to live by. Her warm, welcoming personality and beautiful smile will be cherished forever.
