    • Lily L. Cummings, age 93, of Appleton, passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 12, 2017. She was born on April 29, 1924, daughter of the late Charles and Julia Truax. She married Walter Maass and together they had 5 children. He preceded her in death in 1977. In 1992, Lily married Jim Cummings. She enjoyed her flower gardens, crafting and a good fish dinner. Above all, Lily enjoyed spending time with her family.

      Lily is survived by her second husband, Jim Cummings; her children: Mary Shampo, Chris (Nick) Gunderson, and Rosann (Pete) Younger; daughters-in-law: Barb Maass and Char Van Deraa; a sister, Lila Schroeder; sisters-in-law: Evelyn, Carol and Diane; brothers-in-law: Jerry and Marv; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

      Lily was preceded in death by her first husband, Wally; her sons: Ron and Chuck Maass; a son-in-law, Ken Shampo; and her 8 siblings.

      Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lily’s life on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the home of Rosann Younger from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
