    Shirley Meyer, age 87, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023. She was born to the late Wilfred and Ethel (Barnes) Townhill on November 1, 1935 in Lincoln, England.

    On April 16, 1955 Shirley married the love of her life, Wilbrd Meyer, at St. Andrew’s Church in the United Kingdom and together they raised three sons after settling in the US. Shirley was extremely family oriented and loved to spend her days surrounded by her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kind heart, amazing memory, and the many treats she baked for them over the years.

    Shirley is survived by her children: Paul (Cheryl), Keith (Becky), and Craig (Tammy); grandchildren: Harrison (Leah), Aidan, Maxwell, Jack, Colby, Aubrey, and Trevor Meyer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilbrd; her sister, Mavis; and her granddaughter, Shawna.

    A celebration of life for Shirley will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will continue until the time of the service.
