    • Bernice D. Reinl, age 81, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24 surrounded by her family. Bernice was born in Cumberland, MD on June 17, 1933 to the late Emmett and Lucy (Bridges) Tolbert. She graduated high school in Baltimore and was very proud of her Catholic education. While in high school, she was employed by the phone company in Baltimore. On January 23, 1955, she was united in marriage to Denis Reinl in Baltimore. Denis preceded her in death in 1972. Bernice's greatest accomplishment was raising her 10 children, especially following the death of her husband. This never ending task was immeasurable and will never be forgotten. She worked as a bookkeeper for Denis' business - Overhead Door Company of Appleton. She also worked as a switchboard operator at Pranges Downtown for many years. She then worked at Kmart in Kimberly and in the bakery at Mikes Town and Country. She also worked for many years as a dispatcher for Affinity Hospitals. Bernice volunteered at St. Elizabeth Hospital and was a Girl Scout leader. She loved animals and trips to the casino.

She is survived by her ten children: Erich (Lori) Reinl, Leslie (John) Hiles, Michele (Lee) Hennick, Andrea (Mitcheal) Stewart, Christina (Todd) Prahl Sr., Tracy (JoAnn) Reinl, Kelly (Christopher) Scott, Philip (Kris) Reinl, Stephanie Reinl, and Melanie (Peter) Evans; 29 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren with 2 on the way; sister, Virginia Lee (Robert) Wilkins; 3 sisters-in-law: Virginia Tolbert, Maria Pausha, and Susan Oneson; and brother-in-law, James Reinl. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 brothers: Raymond, Richard, and Stanley Tolbert; and 2 sisters, Dorothy Hahn and Katherine Tolbert.

A Memorial Service for Bernice was held at 11 am on Friday, March 27, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel, with Deacon Maury Reed officiating. Visitation held at the funeral home on Friday from 9 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Appleton Medical Center ER and the staff at Theda Clark Hospital ICU for their compassionate care.
