- West, Rita Marie 74, died quietly at 1 a.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2012, in the presence of her husband and granddaughter. Rita was born May 28, 1938, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Charles and Gertrude Rego. She wed Theodore (Ted) West on August 18, 1956, and they were married nearly 56 years. In addition to Ted, Rita is survived by three brothers: Robert, Richard, and Roger; four children: Paul, Julie, Kevin, and James; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude, just two years ago, and before that by her father, Charles, and her brother, Raymond. Services: The family will hold a memorial and celebration of her life on Tuesday, July 31, from 5-8 p.m. at the Soulard Coffee Garden, 910 Geyer Avenue, Saint Louis, MO, 63104, 314-241-1464.
