Photos | Obituary Lynn M. Gray 67, Athens, formerly of Wausau, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital, Weston, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 7, 1943 in Green Bay, daughter of Muriel (Smits) Wilson of Wausau and the late Robert Wilson. On July 3, 1999, she married Richard "Dick" Gray at St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgar. He survives. For 34 years, Lynn worked for the former U.S. Filter, Rothschild, until her retirement. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed traveling, working in her flower beds, sewing, reading and making wine. She was a member of the Marshfield Monday Morning Quilting Group and made several quilts for her family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors inclide, her husband, Richard "Dick" Gray, Athens; her mother, Muriel Wilson, Wausau; two daughters, Laura (Mike) Riebe, Woodbury, Minn. and Jennifer (Scott) Cornelius, Kronenwetter; two step-daughters, Christine Waldron, Whitefish Bay and Elizabeth Gray, West Allis; four grandchildren, Madison, Caleb, Joshua and Cora; one brother, Fred (Colleen) Wilson, Green Bay; seven sisters, Kathy (Bill) Rust, White Bear Lake, Minn., Liz Veternick, Sherrills Ford, N.C., Maureen (Art) Dollase, Coon Rapids, Minn., Helen (Tim) Canfield, St. Paul, Minn., Jan (Keith) Koeppel, Rothschild, Bonnie (Daun) Korkow, Las Vegas and Vicki (Michael Swanson) Wilson, Kent, Wash.; one brother-in-law, Tom (Paula) Gray, Sun Prairie and many nieces and nephews. Besides her father Robert, she was preceded in death by one brother, Brian Wilson, and one son-in-law, Joe Waldron. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2011 at St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgar. Rev. LaDonna Ekern will officiate. Friends may call Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the St. Stephen Media Project Fund or the American Cancer Society.
