      Obituary

      Mrs. John P. Paquet, aged 63 years, died at her home at Elk Mound, on New Years day' diabetes was the cause of death. Mrs Paquet had been ill for three months. The deceased leaves a husband and eight grown children; they are: mrs. N. L. Schaff, wife of Alderman Schaff of Eau Claire; Mrs. Nicholas Ott, of Durand; John, Phillip, Henry and ferdinand Paquet of Elk Mound; Mrs. Joseph Kettner, of Albertsville, and Jacob E. Paquet of Chicago.
      The funeral will occur on Wednesday morning from the home at 9 o'clock; services will be held at St. Joseph's church, Elk Mound, at 10 o'clocl.

      Mrs. J. P. Paquet was treated to a grand surprise on Sunday, that being her birthday. A large number came out from Eau Claire: Mr. and Mrs. Nick Schaaf and five children, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Ott, Fred Paquet, Mrs. Weber, Ed Weber, Frank Weber, John Welter, Philip Paquet, Mrs. Paquet and others. They had a grand time. A splendid banquet was served of which all partook. Many handsome presents were made to Mrs. Paquet, some of them valuable.
