    • Milton M. Paroubek, age 85, of Green Bay, formerly of Clintonville, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at the Odd Fellow Nursing Home, Green Bay. Milton was born on February 24, 1924, in Merrill, WI, the son of the late Joseph and Ida (Wendt) Paroubek. He graduated from Merrill High School in 1942 and continued his education at Northwestern College in Chicago. In 1943, he was called to serve our country in the Army Air Force later serving in Air Transport Command in India. Milton attained the rank of sergeant at the time of his discharge in 1945. He was a very proud war veteran. On June 15, 1946, he married Elaine Thompson in Merrill. The couple moved to Clintonville in January of 1949 when Milton was promoted from Thorp Finance in Merrill to manager of their Clintonville office. In 1953, he joined Metropolitan Life Ins. Co., serving 25 years. In 1978, Milton started his own independent Insurance Agency in Clintonville as well as working as rural mail carrier for 13 years until retirement from both in 1989. Elaine preceded her husband in death on January 9, 1988, after 41 years of marriage. On April 29, 1989, Milton married Janice Wiley in Clintonville. Janice passed away on November 11, 1999.

      Milton was an active member of the Clintonville community. He had belonged to American Legion Post #63, the Riverside Golf Club, the Boys Baseball League, the Lions, Rotary, Bow Hunters, Quarterback and Curling Clubs. He was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader (Troup 28) and was awarded "The Lamb Award" by the National Lutheran Committee of Scouting. Milton was an active member of Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, where he served as Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent for 25 years. Milton will be missed and was known as a fun loving father and grandpa who always put the needs of others ahead of his own.

      A special thank you goes out to the extended family at Bellevue Retirement Facility, Green Bay who helped make this past year so special for Milton.

      Survivors include two sons: Keith (Robin) Paroubek, Carl Junction, MO; Thomas (Lynn) Paroubek, De Pere, WI ; his grandchildren: Yurik Paroubek (fiancee Jessica Neely), Arkadelphia, AR; Nikulas Paroubek, Russell, AR; Andy Paroubek, Appleton; Joe Paroubek (fiancee Emilee Houge), Milwaukee; Mike Paroubek, Madison; Kara Paroubek, De Pere; his sister: Angela (John) Koerner, Oxnard, CA; three brothers: Myron Paroubek, Onalaska, WI; Norman (Emily) Paroubek, Chicago, IL; Donald (Doris) Paroubek, Merrill, WI; his sisters-in-law: Ruth Weyenberg and Geraldine (Dennis) Sauberlich, Appleton; his special niece and godchild, Sandra Wallace, San Jose, CA.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives: Elaine and Janice, a sister and two brothers in infancy, and his sister-in-law Dorothy Verstagen.

      Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at the Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Inurnment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Military Honors will be provided at the church by the American Legion Post # 63 and the V.F.W. Post # 664 of Clintonville.
