On November 29, 2014, Dolores "Dee" (Nowicke) Murphy (87) of Howard, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 17, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Edward and Verena (Wery) Nowicke. Dolores was raised in Duck Creek (Village of Howard) and graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1945. She attended Kaukauna Normal Teacher's College and began teaching in 1948 at Champeau Elementary. She also taught at Water Division School and Duck Creek Elementary. After teaching for 10 years, she retired to raise her family.

She married her best friend and lifelong love Clifford "Kip" Murphy June 10, 1950 at St. John the Baptist Church. Together, they raised seven children in Howard and enjoyed a wonderful life. She was very active in the catholic church because faith was a driving force in her life. She taught catechism at St. Joseph's Church in Allouez for many years and was involved with the local chapter of Catholics United for the Faith.

Over their 64 years together, Cliff and Dolores loved to travel. They visited Hawaii, Mexico, Jamaica, St. Thomas, Canada, Poland and Israel. For 10 years they wintered in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and spent every summer weekend at their beloved cottage on Moshawquit Lake. Reading, cooking for her family, watching classic movies, enjoying lakeside campfires, attending Seymour High School basketball games, and spending time with her children and grandchildren were her favorite pastimes.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Clifford Murphy, and children; Larry (Bonnie) Murphy, Joan (Matt) Waller, Julie (Jerry) Verthein, Jon (Lucy) Murphy, Ann Murphy, Russ (Rebecca) Murphy, Victor (Lynn) Murphy.
