Notes - Margaretha Dorn died at her home in North Stockbridge on Thursday, Sept. 8, aged fifty three years, five months and twenty-five days.
Margaretha Nicolai was born in Richland County, March 14, 1857, and was the daughter of Stephan and Elizabeth Nicolai. In 1859 she moved with her parents of Mt. Calvary, Fond du Lac County and in 1868 to Sherwood where she was married in 1884 to Gustave Dorn. She was a woman held in high esteem by her neighbors and friends, all of whom regret her death and sympathize with the bereft husband and family.
She is survived by a husband and six children, Mrs. John Ecker of South Stockbridge, Albert, Raymond, Leo, Mabel and Olivia. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Kate Behre of San Francisco, California and Mrs. Mary Haber of Sacramento, California, and a brother, Wm. Nicolai of Ashland, Oregon. She was buried on Saturday, the remains being laid at rest in the Dorn family cemetery.
