- Mrs. Connie M. Hermes, 77, Suamico, passed peacefully Saturday, December 8, 2018. She was born May 19, 1941, to Louis and Helen (Drzewiecki) Klaybor.
Connie graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1959. She married Mike Hermes on May 1, 1965.
When she was in grade school, she had a pen pal in Ireland, Kathleen Burke. They stayed friends throughout their entire lives. Connie and Mike loved to visit her and traveled all over Europe. In her extensive traveling, she made friends all over the world. She and Mike enjoyed spending their winters in Florida for ten years, until returning year-round to Wisconsin.
Connie loved to entertain and was a gracious host. She loved having everyone in her home and was famous for her fish fries. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, and especially knitting many items for her family and friends. She participated in the Connect Inc. Christmas Tree Jubilee, where she decorated many Christmas trees for cancer patients. If there was ever anything she could do to help someone, she would do it. Connie was known to everyone who loved her as Nana and she made everyone, regardless of who they were, feel like family.
Connie is survived by her husband, Mike; her son, Christopher (Katja) Hermes; a daughter-in-law, Kim Demeny (Doug Sutter); grandchildren, Sydney, Sam (Sierra), Sophie, and Anika Hermes; brother Dick Klaybor; nephew, Rick Klaybor; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles (Barb) Hermes, Lee (Glory) Hermes, Lenore (Loren) Olejniczak, Kathy Hermes, Louise Salscheider, Daniel (Cheryl) Hermes, Betsy (Tom) Frericks, Steve (Sandy) Hermes, Don (Terry) Hermes and Rosemary Hermes.
