      Aerts, Winon M. (Winnie)
      Winon M. (Winnie) Aerts, 90, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2008, at Harbor Suites, De Pere, Wis. She was born on Dec. 17, 1917, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Violet Kazilek. On July 30, 1941, she married John J. Aerts in Alexandria, La.
      Winnie graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing, Green Bay, Wis., in 1938. She was employed as a R.N. for 43 years in numerous positions retiring in 1981, from Brown County Mental Health Facility. When she began her employment there, she was the only professional nurse on staff.
      Throughout the years, her interests included cooking, gardening, golfing, camping, fishing, playing cards especially bridge and poker, reading, and crocheting many afghans. Winnie had a special fondness for babies and dogs.
      Survivors include her brother and wife, Chuck and Judy Kazilek, Glen Allen, Va.; daughter and husband, Nan Lee and Bob Langan, Green Bay; daughter, Cindy Aerts, Bradenton, Fla.; son in-law, Clark Steinhardt, Green Bay; grandchildren, Molly and husband, Nick Evgenides, Green Bay; Brian and wife, Kimberly Langan, De Pere; Sara and husband, John Chapman, Eagan, Minn.; and Rick Steinhardt, Two Rivers, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Dyno Evgenides and Abigayle Chapman; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Patton, De Pere; and Orpha Aerts, Amberg, Wis.; and close family friends, Tom and Mary Kay Washienko, Rich and Sally Langan, Mary Vander Perren, Otch and Janice Baeten and Dawn Seubert.
      Winnie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband John; daughter, Katie Steinhardt; sisters, Betty Smith and Ora Lee; brothers and sisters in-law, Dorothy Aerts, Martha and Norbert Kersten, Lorraine and Ken Martin, Florence and Bob Van Sistine, Pat and Hazel Aerts, Mary Jane and Elmer Martin, David Aerts and Ronald Patton.
      A special thanks to Dawn Seubert for volunteering many hours of visits and outings for our mother and to the Baetens and Mary Vander Perren for their faithful visits. Our family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Harbor Suites for their tender loving care of our Mom, who appreciated them very much.
      A memorial fund has been established for Unity Hospice and the St. Norbert Kathryn Steinhardt Scholarship Fund.
