- DEATH TAKES MRS. OSCAR F. BALDWIN
Resident Of Town Of Union For Over 40 Years Dies At Home Of Son In Symco
Mrs. Oscar Baldwin, 70, died at the home of her son, Willard Baldwin in Symco, Sunday evening, November 14, after a week's illness following a paralytic stroke. Louise Belzner, daughter of Christian and Louise Belzner, was born in Dardingen, Germany, April 29, 1867. She came to America with her family at the age of 14 years.
She spent nine years in Ohio before her marriage to Oscar Baldwin at Weyauwega on March 21, 1890. After a year in Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin came to Symco where they resided on the same farm for over forty years. Mr. Baldwin died in January 1928. Much of the time during the past five years, Mrs. Baldwin lived with her son, Earl, in Appleton.
Survivors are two sons, Willard of Symco and Earl of Appleton, four step-children, Mrs. Annie Wooley of Gurnee, Ill., Mrs. Alice Caldwell of Cleveland, Ohio, Homer Baldwin of Manawa, and Joe Baldwin of Symco, 24 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the home at 1:30 o'clock and from St. Mark's Ev. Lutheran church in Symco at two o'clock, with the Rev. G.H. Kitzmann in charge. Interment was in the Symco cemetery. Bearers were two sons, Willard and Earl Baldwin, two step-sons, Homer and Joe Baldwin, and two grandsons, Earl Baldwin of Manawa and Wm. Hardy of Appleton.
