      Phil L. Harris, 80, a resident of Menominee, Mich. a loving, devoted, and compassionate husband, father and grandfather passed away Sunday, February 26, 2006, surrounded by his family at Rennes Health Center East in Peshtigo, Wis. Phil was born on January 15, 1926 in Knapp, Wis., to the late Lorn and Ethel (Ailport) Harris.
      Phil attended Stephensen High School. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. during World War II, receiving various medals including the Purple Heart for being wounded while fighting the in Japan. After the War he returned home and married the former Lucille Walters on June 9, 1951 in Marinette, Wis. Phil was the Superintendent at Vernco in Menominee, before his retirement in 1978. He enjoyed many hobbies after retiring including hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, traveling and spending time at his cabin. Phil was also an avid Brewers and Packers fan. Phil's greatest joy was spending time with his family.
      Phil is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lucille of Menominee, Mich.; five daughters: Debbie (David) Doubek of Menominee, Mich., Susan (Jay) Poutinen of Stevens Point, Wis., Pamela (Scott) DuBrock of Marinette, Wis., Vicki (Don) Kitkowski of Menominee, Mich., and Tammy (Scott) Lesandrini of Marinette, Wis.; two sons: Mark (Renae) Harris of Menominee, Mich., Kevin (Beth) Harris of Bradenton, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Lon (Cheryl) Harris of Menominee, Mich.; one sister, Beverly (Denny) Conway of Beloit, Wis.; and nieces and nephews. Along with his parents; one brother, Robert Harris; and two sisters: Ardith Harris and Betty Foster, preceded Phil in death.
      Funeral services fro Phil will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at 8 p.m. from the Cadieu Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of service. The Rev. William Shepard from Bethel Lutheran Church will officiate. A memorial fund has been established in Phil's name.
      Phil will always be remembered for his dedication to family and friends and his willingness to give a hand to anyone that asked. He was a great man that will be greatly missed by his family and anyone that may have known him.
      Phil's family would like to thank the Staff at Rennes Health Center East for their kind and loving care.
