- Age 99, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 1999, at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born on March 3, 1899, in Osseo, Wisconsin, daughter of Robert & Hilda (Holman) Nelson. She lived in Osseo until going to Montana with her parents, two brothers and one sister in April 1913 to homestead on land they would own after working and living on it for two years. While in Montana, she married Henry Hartsworm on April 12, 1918. They returned to Wisconsin in the fall of 1920 and settled in Appleton and Black Creek. They lived in Black until moving to Waupaca in 1939. While living in Waupaca, they owned and managed the Erickson Oil Station until leasing it to Clark Oil Co. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca, Rebecca of Odd Fellow Lodge, Relief Corps of King and her neighborhhod card club.
Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie (Claire) Turner, Waupaca; a son, John "Jack" Hartsworm, Waupaca; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Helen Nelson, Miles City, Montana; special friend Margaret Quade, Waupaca; she is also survived by nieces nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hartsworm in 1962; two sons, Wallace Hartsworm in 1968 and Robert Hartsworm in 1981; two daughters-in-law, Virginia (Hartsworm) Klarner and Brunhilde Hartsworm; two grandsons, Steven Hartsworm and Douglas Hartsworm; two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Friday, January 8, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev Sean Motley officiating. Visitation will will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
