    At 7:00 o'clock on Friday morning Mr. Wm. Klauck died at the young age of 32 years old, at his home from complications of a lengthy illness.

    The deceased was born and raised in Kiel. He learned the plumbing trade while working at the firm of J. M. Duecker and Company. Later he worked for Stoelting Brothers and shorty before he became ill he worked for Rud. Greve. Six years ago he married Miss Katie Klaeser and the marriage was blessed with two children.

    Besides his wife and the two children, his grieving father, seven brothers and three sisters who mourn his passing survive him. Mr. Klauck was well-known, beloved and respected by all that knew him for his sincere and honest character, and his work was highly praised.

    Relatives and his large circle of friends mourn his early passing. The funeral took place on Tuesday morning at 10:00 o'clock at the St. Peter and Paul Church with Father Kolbe officiating. Due to the heavy rain, the burial was postponed until the afternoon, where he was laid to rest at the Catholic Cemetery. Besides the large number of mourners at the cemetery, other organizations in which the deceased was a member, that took part in the service, were the Holy Catholic Foresters, the E. F. U. Club, the Red Men, the Turners and the Kiel Fire Department.

    Mourners who attended from outside the area were; the brothers Benjamin from Milwaukee, Mathias from Sheboygan, and Henry from Withee; Mrs. Joseph Klauck from Stanley; John and Joseph Klaeser, Leonard Mueller , Anton Klaeser and Mrs. Anton Salber from Milwaukee; Mrs. Chas. Jones and children from Plymouth; Geo. Leiskamp from Black Creek; three brothers of John Klauck Sr. from Milwaukee and many other relatives.

    William married Katherine Klaeser 14 May 1906, Manitowoc, Manitowoc Co, Wisconsin. Katherine (daughter of Joseph Klaeser and Anna Katherine Krousa) was born 21 Dec 1882, Kiel, Manitowoc Co, Wisconsin; died 19 Dec 1957, Sheboygan, Sheboygan Co, Wisconsin; was buried , St Peter & Paul Cemetery, Kiel, Wisconsin.     Alvira S. Lettenberger, 98, formerly of Kiel, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006 at Fountainview Care Center, Ripon, where she had been a resident the past years.
    She is the former Alvira Klauck, born Aug. 13, 1908 in Kiel, daughter of the late John and Katherine Klaeser Klauck. Alvira attended Ss. Peter and Paul Grade School and Kiel High School. She married Herman Lettenberger at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church, Kiel on July 6, 1929. Her husband Herman preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1983. Alvira was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Christian Women.
    Survivors include her four sons, Wiliam and Carmen Lettenberger of Ohio, Robert and Maxsine Lettenberger, Malone, James and Joyce Lettenberger, Muscatine, Iowa, Joseph and Valerie Lettenberger, Green Lake; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Walter and one granddaughter.
    A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Loren Nys, SDS officiating. Burial took place in the parish cemetery.

    MUSCATINE, Iowa - James Lettenberger, 82, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

    Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017, at St. Mathias Church. Immediately following the mass, private burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Jean Lettenberger Scholarship Fund at Muscatine High School.     James was born on November 25, 1934, in Kiel, Wisconsin, the son of Herman and Alvira Klauck Lettenberger. He married Joyce Nett on August 11, 1954, in Kiel, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2017.

    He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1952 until 1956 during the Korean War.
    He retired from Grain Processing Corp. He enjoyed cross stitching, woodworking, golf, and spending lots of time with his grandkids.

    Those left to honor his memory include his children, Jan Herman and husband, Andrew, Jeffrey Lettenberger and wife, Patricia, Julie Keig and husband, Robert, JoMary Schuman, Joni Bieri and husband, David; 15 grandchildren, Jesse Keig and Abby Markham, Bart, and Neil Lettenberger, and Jenna Evans, Stephanie Werwie, Brian Herman and Brenda Braatz, Michelle Wulfekuhle, Matthew Schuman and Madalyn Bendgen, Spencer, Dexter, Brandon and Collin Bieri; eight great-grandchildren, Kylie and Caden Wulfekuhle, Sienna, Lilly, and Bella Keig, Dylan Markham, Hannah and Grace Bendgen; and three brothers, William, Robert, and Joseph Lettenberger.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce, and a daughter, Jean.
