    • Weber, Matthias 1945 Appleton Post Crescent dated 3/27/1945; Mathias Weber, 73, 130 Taylor St. Kaukauna, died at his home 10:00 Monday evening after an illness of three weeks. Born April 19th, 1871, in Woodville, Wisconsin he engaged in the blacksmith trade and in 1903 opened a blacksmith shop in Kaukauna which he operated until his death. He was a past chief ranger of the Catholic Order of Foresters, a member of the Holy Name Society and of Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna. Survivors are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Carl Specht, of Milwaukee and Mrs. Joseph West and Mrs. Sylvester VanSchindel of Appleton; five sons, Louis, of Appleton; Michael, of Kaukauna and Staff Sergeant Edward, Sergeant Charles and Sergeant Herbert, all serving in the European area; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral Mass will be read at 9:00 Wednesday morning with the Rev. Peter Grossneck officiating. Burial services will be held at 10:00 Thursday morning with burial in Holy Cross cemetery.
