  • Notes
    • Age 96, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2004 at the Appleton Medical Center. She was born in Dousman, Wisconsin on September 21, 1907, daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Van Ert) Weyenberg of Kimberly. Agnes attended Holy Name Grade School in Kimberly and on September 4, 1928 married Joseph Dupont at Holy Name. Prior to her marriage to Joe, she worked at the Kimberly Clark "Club House." During that long and happy marriage, Agnes enjoyed her home and cottage on Lake Winneconne, where she entertained her seven children, friends, neighbors, and relatives. For many years, she provided a happy week at the lake for her thirty-one grandchildren - fishing, water skiing, playing games, and eating. She was known for her good cooking, her sewing skills, and many acts of kindness. Agnes was the neighborhood jack of all trades who removed cinders from eyes, diagnosed illnesses, cut kids' hair, bathed new babies, counseled those in needed, and provided food and solace at funerals. Agnes was the one people called when they didn't know whom else to call. She was active in the community as a member of the Kimberly Homemakers, the Kimberly Golden Agers Club, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and Ladies of Holy Name.

Survivors include three daughters: Patricia (Carl) Vanden Boom of Kimberly, Mary Lou (Robert) Wahlers of Madison, and Susan Dupont of Milwaukee; two sons: Tom (Dorothy) Dupont and Steve (Gail) Dupont of Georgia; two daughters-in-law: Marge Dupont of Wrightstown and Sue Dupont of Darboy; thirty-one grandchildren, sixty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; a sister: Dorothy Fox of Winneconne; a brother: Harold Weyenberg of Little Chute; beloved nieces Bert and Marie Dupont of Neenah; a special friend LilaMae Fird Hexner of Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, her parents, sons Michael and Joe Jr., and brothers Louis, Benedict, John, and Sylvester.

The funeral liturgy for Agnes will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 10, 2004 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 10 AM until the hour of the service. A memorial fund has been established in Agnes' name for St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna where she had made her home for the past three years. The staff at St. Paul took such wonderful care of mom - she could have been in no better hands. Thank you all so very much.

Agnes will be remembered for her loving heart, her understanding ways, and her steadfast support of her family, friends, and relatives. She will be missed.
