      Tuesday, June, 26, 1951


      Walter Kieffer, 81, route 2, Kaukauna, died unexpectedly about 7 o'clock this morning. Born Sept. 5,1869, in Oconto County, he came to Freedom, where he lived since, when he was three years old. He was a farmer. On Sept. 29,1946, he celebrated his golden wedding anniversary. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and St. Therese Society of St. Nicholas Church, Freedom.

      Survivors are the widow, Wilhelmina (Weyenberg) Kieffer: two daughters, Mrs. A.B.(Mary) Cain, Milwaukee, and Miss Bernadette Kieffer, Oshkosh: four sons, Joseph and George Kieffer, De Pere, Martin Kieffer, route 2, Kaukauna, and Lawrence Kieffer, Appleton; four brothers, John Kieffer, Racine, Henry Kieffer, Lake Winnebago, Nicholas Kieffer, Kimberly, and Peter Kieffer, route 2, Kaukauna; three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Murphy, Appleton, and Mrs. Susan La Plume, and Mrs, Rose Steinhoff, Chicago; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

      Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, after 7 o'clock Wednesday evening. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Wednesday and Thursday evenings. After the cortege forms at the funeral home at 9 o'clock Friday morning, services will be at St. Nicholas Church, Freedom, at 9:30. The Rev. Joseph Kools, pastor, will be in charge. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
