Van Lieshout, Orville Martin
Orville Martin Van Lieshout, 91, Bay Settlement, died suddenly Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at a local hospital.
Born in Bay Settlement, Nov. 19, 1915, he is the son of the late William and Mary Ann (Herman) Van Lieshout.
Orville married the former Bernadette Schott Sept. 4, 1940, at St. Kilians Church, New Franken, and the couple celebrated 65 years of marriage until she passed away Dec. 5, 2005. Together, the couple worked the family farm through thick and thin.
Orville had a special love of animals which he tended to up until his last days. Orville was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Church, as well as a member of the Holy Name Society, church usher, and parking attendant at the church picnics. Orville was a longtime supporter of Catholic education. He was one of the original members of the Bay Settlement Historical Society.
Orville is survived by his five children and their spouses, Norb (Carol) Van Lieshout, Green Bay; Sandi and the late Donald Van Lieshout, Casco; Rosemary "Rosie" Corsten Vander Kelen, Bob Vander Kelen, Roger (Barb) Van Lieshout, Joanne Perrault, all of Green Bay; 14 grandchildren, Dan (Cathy) Van Lieshout, Christine Stewart, Karen (Jay) Wisneski, Steve (Kathy) Van Lieshout, Bill (Dawn) Van Lieshout, Sue (Rick) Lewins, Jeff Van Lieshout, Chad Corsten, Cari (Jake) VanOoyen, Becky (Brett) Roberts, Sarah (Kevin) Schwarten, Scott (Toni) Van Lieshout, Paul (special friend, Michelle) Van Lieshout, and Amy Perrault; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their spouses, Gen Pigeon, Ethel Mae Linzmeier, Richard (Bernadine), Robert (Donna), Cletus (Grace), Marcel (Eleanor) Schott, Marion (Bob) Lardinois, Joan (Richie) Bertrand, Roselyn (Bert) VandenPlas, Rosalie (Eddie) Kinjerski, and Lorraine (Leonard) Loberger; special nieces and nephews, Lloyd (Donna) Van Lieshout and Lilly Mae Wypyszynski, many other relatives and friends.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernadette; one son, Don; infant granddaughters, Diane and Donna Van Lieshout; two sons-in-law, Mike Corsten and George Perrault; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Lucille Van Lieshout; three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Harry Pigeon, Alvin Linzmeier, and Hilary (Delores) Schott.
Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird Street, Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with Deacon Richard Nowak officiating. Thursday's visitation will continue at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Church with the Rev. Thomas Hagendorf, O. Praem., officiating. Entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Visit www.malcorefuneralhome.com to express online condolences to the family. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in his name.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Rev. Thomas Hagendorf, O. Praem., Deacon Richard Nowak, the Malcore family for the many years of friendship, as well as the staff of Anna's House, especially Mary. Also, all of the visitors who took the time to stop by to see Orville. And to the special residents at Anna's House that were so good to Dad.
