    • Wallace "Wally" C. Maass, age 92, of Seymour, passed away on Saturday, May 5th, 2012 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. He was born July 11, 1919 to the late John and Emma (Bohl) Maass.

      He married June Ziegler on December 28, 1941 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in the town of Freedom.

      Wally was a lifetime member of Freedom Moravian Church serving on several boards and committees, played dirtball, and was involved in many other church activities throughout the years.

      He farmed in the town of Osborn for 30 years. Wally had also worked with the telephone company, Outagamie County Highway Department, and retired from Kurz and Root after over 25 years with the company.

      Wally enjoyed working in the woods and being outdoors, playing sheepshead, dancing, bowling, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed traveling with June.

      Wally is survived by his wife June; four children: Carol (Stan) Jens, Appleton; Jack Maass, Seymour; David (Tracy) Maass, Stephensville; and Dale (Brenda) Maass, Stephensville; daughter-in-law Colleen Maass; 10 grandchildren: Wendy, Ross, Crystal, Mandy, Nicole, Christopher, Cory, Carrie, Mariah, and Auburne; 18 great grandchildren. Further survived by four brothers-in-law: Don, Ken (Lorraine), Phil (Beverly), and Fred.

      He was preceded in death by two sons: Jerry and Ron; great granddaughter Nevaeh; daughter-in-law Mary Maass; two brothers: Harold and Milton; and a sister Bernice Eggert.

      Friends may call at Freedom Moravian Church, Freedom, on Wednesday, May 9th, 2012 from 9 AM until services at 11 AM with Pastor Jason Anderson officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
