Appleton
Age 73, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 1997 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on February 13, 1924 in Mackville to the late Peter and Mary (Sanderfoot) Griesbach. On April 12, 1947 Catherine married Howard McGuire. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her charity work and making people happy with her talent for decorating wedding cakes. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Nathan Vanderlogt, three sisters: Germaine Griesbach, Frances Timm, Marcella Griesbach; a brother: Merlin Griesbach; and two brothers-in-law: Wenzel Jim Kuba and Mickey McGuire.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Howard; four daughters, Mary (Joseph) Bauman, Appleton; Marilyn (James) Neubert, Hortonville; Karen (Richard) Vanderlogt, Freedom; and Michelyn (Steven) Schmitz, Appleton; her sons: Raymond (Syndi) McGuire and Robert (Diane) McGuire, both of Appleton. She is further survived by her sisters: Margaret Kuba, Appleton; Therese (Frank) Short, Appleton; Laverne (Joseph) Penterman, Appleton; Kitty (Donald) Nuxoll, Black Creek; and Stella (Roger) Wood, Menasha; her brothers: Donald (Jane) Griesbach, Appleton; Gerald (Maria) Griesbach, Kaukauna; Ronald (Diane) Griesbach, Kentucky; a brother-in-law, David Timm, Seymour; sisters-in-law: Willa Griesbach, Appleton; Fern Gilbert, Mackville; and Barb McGuire, Appleton. She is also further survived by 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
The Mass will be on Tuesday, April 1, 1997 at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mackville with Father Justin Werner officiating. The visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Valley Funeral Home - Appleton with a vigil service at 7 p.m. There will also be visitation on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. A memorial fund has been established. The family would like to thank the Fox Valley VNA and all those who helped and supported them through this difficult time.
