    • Greenville - Elda Van Handel went to the arms of her loving Savior on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the age of 102 at Living Tree Estates.

      Elda was born on December 16, 1916 to the late Albert and Selma (Lemke) Kaddatz in the town of Ellington. She was baptized on January 1, 1917 and confirmed on July 27, 1930. Elda resided with her daughter Carol for the past several years. She was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church and worked with the Mount Olive Ladies Aid for many years.

      Elda will be remembered as a loving and giving person who enjoyed sewing and crocheting for family and friends, especially for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

      Elda will be missed by her daughter Carol (late Marvin) DeWall and son Kenneth (Mary) Wehrman. She is loved and adored by her grandchildren Rick (Leanne) Puffe, Jeff (Diane) DeWall, Bruce DeWall, Rod DeWall, Cherri (Steven) Nikolai, Paula (Tim) Lamers, and Penny (Terry) Flaherty; her great-grandchildren Michele, Chris, Jamie (Drew), Ashley (Pat), Brittney (Scott), Trevor, Stacey (Jason), Morgan, Zack, Katelyn and Olivia; great-great grandchildren Kaden, Emberlyn, Savannah, Jordyn, Levi, Teagan and Sawyer. She is further survived by her brother Lyle Kaddatz and sister-in-law Violet Pierce.

      Elda was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Lester Wehrman, Lyle Riehl, and Arthur Van Handel, brothers Elmer (Lila) Kaddatz and Roland (Valda) Kaddatz, sisters Irene Kaddatz and Gladys (Clyde) Main, brother-in-law Menzo Pierce, sister-in-law Mary Jane Kaddatz , and son-in-law Marvin DeWall Sr.

      A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 930 E. Florida Avenue, Appleton, with the Rev. Troy R. Schreiner officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. A private burial will be held at the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Appleton.

      The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers of Living Tree Estates and Southern Care Hospice for the loving care given to Elda.
