      On a spring morning when farmers would be cultivating fields or planting corn, Loren D. Marcks, 72, of rural Black Creek, went to meet his creator the God who put the sun in the sky to shine and caused the rain to fall to make the seeds grow, on Wednesday morning, May 6, 2015. He was born June 3, 1942, son of the late Norman and Mildred (Burmeister) Marcks. On September 19, 1964 he was united in marriage to Betty Jean "Jeanie" Vander Zanden at the Seymour Assembly of God Church.

      Loren was a life-long member of the Cicero United Methodist Church and also supported Samaritan's Purse and Heifer International. He farmed in the Town of Cicero on the family Century farm.

      Survivors include his wife Jeanie; sons: Todd Marcks, Raleigh, North Carolina; Douglas Marcks, Milwaukee; special dog, Ziggy; one sister, Susan (Ivan) Klosterman, Bonduel; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Martha Marcks, Green Bay; Gerry (Marilyn) Vander Zanden, Seymour; Jim Vander Zanden, Seymour; Mary (Jerry) Johnson, Wisconsin Rapids; David (special friend Debbie) Vander Zanden, Seymour; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his brother, Allan (Betty Ann) Marcks and a nephew Terry Marcks.

      A public visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 3-7 p.m. at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour. Private family services will be held. Burial will take place in the Cicero United Methodist Cemetery.
