Vanden Heuvel, Mildred H. Mildred H. Vanden Heuvel, formerly of Little Chute, died Tuesday October 31, 2006, at Brewster Village at the age of 98. She was born August 27, 1908, in Kennan, WI to the late George and Nell (Nelessen) Bushman. On September 29, 1930, Mildred married Simon H. Vanden Heuvel at St. Mary's Church in Catawba. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1973.
She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church where she was involved with the Christian Mothers and the Mission Club. Mildred enjoyed playing cards, bowling, cooking, baking and sewing. She cherished time spent with her family.
Mildred is survived by three daughters: Rita Ebben of Palos Park, IL; Joan (Don) Sheehy of Naples, FL; and Lois (Ken) Van De Wettering of Appleton; seven grandchildren: Gail (Vern) Shukoski, Lori (Gary) Thiel, Joe Van De Wettering, Karen (Tim) Kasper; Mark (Karin) Ebben, Lisa (Dan) Gerlach and Shawn Boyce; her granddaughter-in-law, Mary Ebben-James; 11 great- grandchildren: Katie, Chris, Ken, Karley, Kyle, Jenny, Karmyn, Nicole, Jessica, Nikki and Becky; two sisters: Kate Strain and Mag Aparo; and one sister-in-law, Faye Bushman. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her grandson, Jim Ebben; her son-in-law, Gerry Ebben; four brothers: Elmer (Charlot), Clarence (Dorothy), Harvey (Julia) and Ray Bushman; four sisters: Hilda (Julius) Olbrantz, Rose (Ed) Gilbert, Bernice (Harold) Linzmeyer and Florence (Tom) Macnamee.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2006, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (1810 N. McDonald, Appleton). The Rev. Gerald Falk will officiate. Friends may call Saturday, after 9 a.m. until the time of Mass directly at church. Committal St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
The Vanden Heuvel family would like to extend their gratitude to Fr. Falk for the many visits to Mom and the entire staff at the Cedars for their TLC over the years.
