Notes - Burial rites will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hillside cemetery for Charles Marx, 75, Appleton, a former resident of city, who was active in band and orchestra work. He died of a heart attack at Appleton Sunday.
His father was the late Gerhardt Marx, long prominent Marshfield civic affairs.
Interment will follow a funeral Mass to be read at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Appleton. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. N. Schuh will officiate at the local rites.
Mr. Marx had lived in Appleton for the past 37 years. He was born in West Bend [sic] Nov. 13, 1880, coming to Hewitt with his parents in 1882 and then to Marshfield in 1886. He attended St. John's School and was employed by the Upham Manufacturing Co. until 1919.
His marriage to Martha Masloff took place in 1904 at St. John's Catholic Church here, with the late Rev. John Eisen officiating. Mrs. Marx preceded her husband in death in 1952.
Survivors include his children, Joseph, Norbert and Karl, Appleton, Mrs. Arthur (Eleanor) Hagen, Gerhard, Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Melvin (Marie) Van Dyke, Kaukauna, and Arthur, Cleveland, Ohio, and a sister, Mrs. Leo Winterburn, Green Bay.
