Vande Voort, Margaret E.
Margaret E. Vande Voort, 91, Greenleaf, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 25, 2008, at her home, with family by her side. She was born March 1, 1917, in the Town of Harrison, WI, daughter of the late Frank and Lena (Schreiber) Dietzen. She married Robert "Bob" Vande Voort on October 19, 1938, at Holy Angels Church in Darboy, and he preceded her in death on May 12, 2000. Margaret was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Wrightstown for 70 years, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.
Margaret and Bob raised their family on a dairy farm where Margaret planted a large garden for many years. While raising and caring for her many children, Margaret's talents of sewing, cooking, and baking were invaluable, leaving us with many special memories. She later enjoyed working as a cook at the Fox Valley Golf Course for many years. Margaret and Bob very much enjoyed visits and card games with family and friends, taking trips to northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, as well as visiting sites in other states. She especially looked forward to visits with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include 13 children: Dorothy (Jack) Jansen, Ken (Marian) Vande Voort, Mary (Ken) Hutjens, Betty (Ken) Kabat, Elaine (Roger) Hendricks, Ray (Linda) Vande Voort, Kathy Vande Voort, Bob Jr., (Debby) Vande Voort, Sue (special friend-Bob) Vande Voort, Patricia Vande Voort, Jim Vande Voort, Donna (Jeff) Frederickson, and Dave (Karen) Vande Voort; 34 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rose Probst; and five sisters-in-law: Audrey Mader, Gwen Reinke, Rita Scheibe, Jane Keyzer, and Margaret Brantmeier.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons: Danny and John; brothers: George, Francis, Lawrence, and Donald; a sister, Clara; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
