Lamers, Art H. Art H. Lamers, of Kaukauna, age 95, passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at home. He was born February 16, 1912, to the late Jacob and Nellie (Van Domelan) Lamers in the Town of Buchcanan. He married the former Leone Berg on June 30, 1936, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna. Art was a self taught Tool and Die Maker, working fulltime for Essential Products for 30 years. The following 20 years, the Schommer sons gave further meaning to Art’s life by continuing to consult him on projects and remaining involved in his life. He was an avid Barber Shopper and was a founding father of the local chapter here in Kaukauna.

Art was an active and longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, serving as a communion distributor, involved in the church choir since the age of 7, as well as contributing on the Holy Cross Home School Committee (PTA) and the Visitation Committee — Hospital and Home Bound. Most of all, Art was a devoted father and husband, he cherished his family and felt blessed to have lived a wonderful and long life. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Leone Lamers; five children: Ken (Mary) Lamers, Can (Cher) Lamers, Dave (Donna) Lamers, Chip (Mary) Lamers and Barbara (Terry) Achten; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Nellie Lamers, 12 brothers and sisters, and a son Paul Lamers.

Art’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2007, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Jack T. Mullarkey and Fr. Bob Vandenberg co-officiating. Friends will be received on Friday, at Church, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home is assisting the family. 920-766-2099.

The family would like to thank Leone for 70 years of devoted love, Dr. Jack Meyer, Yvonne and the Affinity Hospice Team as well as the many family members, neighbors and friends who helped Dad during his time of need.
