- Henry J. Lamers
Appleton
Formerly of Kimberly, age 91, passed away at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 1994 at Americana Healthcare Center following a brief illness. The son of Jacob and Nellie (Van Domlen) Lamers of Kimberly. Mr. Lamers was a lifelong resident of Appleton where he owned and operated Lamers Service on East Wisconsin Avenue. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, a past member of the Knights of Columbus, Appleton Elks Club and U.C.T. As an avid sports fan, he never lost interest in the Clubs, Packers or Bucks. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Mary (Lamers) Grist, and F. James Grist, Appleton; five grandchildren: Charles (Terri Moore) Grist, Portland, Oregon; Julie Grist and Paul Holahan, Los Angeles, California; Dr. and Mrs. Thomas (Jeanne Lipscomb) Grist, Madison, Wisconsin; Lorelle Grist and Brian Dalke, Midland, Michigan; and Nancy Grist and Tom Franchette, Minneapolis, Minnesota; ten great-grandchildren. He is further survived by three brothers: John (Germaine), Jake (Florence), all of Kimberly; Arthur (Leone), Kaukauna; three sisters: Agnes (Elmer) Coenen, Betty (Ted) Lemmers, all of Kimberly; and Wilma (Bernard) Bongers, Appleton; three sisters-in-law: Emma (Mrs. Richard) Lamers, Hilda (Mrs. Ray) Lamers, and Marietta (Mrs. George) Lamers, also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leone (Schwab) Lamers in 1985; also by four brothers: Ray, George, Bill and Richard, two sisters: Mayme Vandenberg and Margaret Wachtendonk. Henry received loving care and concern from his nephew, Rev. Robert Vandenberg; his niece, Mrs. Joe VandenHeuvel; and his good friend, Mary Shallow. The complete funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 16, 1994 at 11 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, corner of Wisconsin Ave. and Morrison St., with the Rev. Robert Vandenberg officiating. Entombment will take place at the Star of Hope Chapel at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. on Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the cortege leaves for church. Parish prayer and scripture services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday. A memorial fund is being established.
