- Margaret K. Taggart, age 88, of Appleton, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a short illness. Margaret was born in Darboy on August 27, 1924, to the late Arthur and Katherine (Kortenhof) Wittmann. On September 16, 1948, she was united in marriage to Glenn Taggart at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Darboy. Margaret was very devoted and compassionate to her volunteer work at St. Elizabeth Hospital, something she enjoyed very much for over 50 years. She was a great cook and enjoyed baking. She loved to golf and recorded two holes in one. Margaret has been a member at St. Bernadette Catholic Church for many years.
She is survived by her husband Glenn, Appleton; 6 sons: Jim, of Appleton, Art (Laura), of Madison, Tom, of Oshkosh, Joe, of Appleton, Tim, of Appleton, and Bob (Cynde), of Appleton; 5 grandchildren: Katherine, Sarah (Trevor), Theresa (Kain), Leah (Aaron), and Laura; a great granddaughter, Olivia; and a sister, Joyce Wittman, Appleton. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters: Evelyn (Joseph) Stadler, Rita (Clarence ) De Shaney, Mary (Frank) Kroiss, Sylvia (Ervin) Kirk, and Therese (Cal) Behnke; daughter in law, Mary, brother in law, John, sister in law, Jane, and father and mother in law, James and Frana.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday, February 2, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes, with Father Donald Zuleger officiating and Father Bob Lexa concelebrating. Friends may visit directly at the church on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for St. Elizabeth Hospital has been established in her name.
