February 24, 1927 - May 2, 2025 Martha Vanden Boogart, age 98, of Little Chute, died on May 2, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loved ones, and went to meet her Savior and be reunited with her husband Martin, son James, and other departed loved ones. She was born on a farm in the town of Vandenbroek on February 24, 1927 to John and Anna (Van Groll) Joosten. On August 26, 1950 she was united in marriage to Martin Vanden Boogart. They spent 62 years together before his death on April 14, 2013, happily raising five children. She always felt blessed to be able to enjoy the experience of growing up on a farm. At the age of 16 when her parents moved off the farm it was wartime and women labor being in high demand she went to vocational school and became a welder for Manitowoc Shipyards. She also worked at Essential Products, Appleton Coated, and Zwickers until she took on the role as a homemaker and considered it the best job of all. Except for vacations, summer outings, and visiting relatives, her happy place was always spending time at home with family. She enjoyed yearly vacations with her husband and children at resorts, and later with her husband just traveling to explore God’s beautiful creation. Her hobbies in different seasons of her life were yard work, oil painting, crafting, and always reading. She was a strong believer in divine intervention and when tackling a difficult task she always relied on the help of her Lord and Savior. Martha is survived by her children: Jeff (Darlene) Vanden Boogart, Kaukauna; Sandi (Bill) Poppe, Little Chute; Mike (Michelle) Vanden Boogart, Larsen; Steve (Lynda) Vanden Boogart, Little Chute. Daughter-in-law: Barbara Vanden Boogart Petit, Morrison. Grandchildren: Jennifer Felber, Olivia Jones, Kelly Hermus, David (Ashley) Poppe, Kara (Josh) Sprangers, Lance (Molly) Vanden Boogart, Levi (Joyel) Vanden Boogart, Luke Vanden Boogart, stepchildren Matthew Vanden Boogart and Alyssa (Jeffrey) Oseguera, Nicole (Marco) Ortago, Brooke Davis, and Angie (Drew) McGinn, and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Beverly Joosten, Little Chute and Dorothy Rutten, Kaukauna. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son James, and three sisters: Mary (Henry) Gloudemans, Agnes (Arthur) Ebben, Minnie (Martin) Ven Rooy; three brothers: Martin (Delia) Joosten, Joseph (Marian) Joosten, Richard Joosten, and three other siblings at a young age. She was also preceded in death by members of her husband’s family: parents Arnold and Margaret (Romenesko) Vanden Boogart, and siblings Lorraine (Peter) Van Lankvelt, Robert (Gloria) Vanden Boogart, and Walter Rutten. A private family service will be held. |
