Formerly of Kaukauna, age 31, died Friday August 5, 1988 in Fargo. He was born April 27, 1957 in Appleton, son of Paul and the late Joan McDaniel Kersten and resided in Kaukauna for most of his life. Jon was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, class of 1975, and also graduated of Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, class of 1979. He was united in marriage to the former Beth Oudenhoven on January 8, 1983. The resided in Traverse City, Michigan, recently moving to Fargo.
Survivors include his wife, Beth; his father, Paul Kersten, Kaukauna; his grandmother, Elvira Verbeten, Little Chute; two sisters and a brother in-law, Karen and Robert Dorn, Appleton; Lisa Kersten, Chicago; father and mother in-law, Tom and Tottie Oudenhoven, Appleton; a sister in-law and brother in-law, Jane and Steven Wilz, Appleton; nieces and nephews, Joshua, Rachel, Nicholas Dorn; Nicholas, Patrick Wilz.
The Mass of Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton with Rev. John Zickert officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Brettschneider Trettin Lederer Funeral home, Appleton from 5-8 p.m. Monday and until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. A prayer service will be 7:30 p.m. Monday.
