- Paul Owen Koch, age 89, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Paul was born in Kaukauna on June 11, 1921, son of the late Otto and Agnes (Brill) Koch. He was baptized on June 19, 1921, and was confirmed at Holy Cross Catholic Church where he remained a member his entire life. Paul graduated from Kaukauna High School and from 1942 to 1946 served in the United States Coast Guard. For many years, he worked as a plumber with his brother Jerome, in Koch Plumbing in Kaukauna. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially in Woodruff, playing cribbage, cracking hickory nuts, watching sports on television, especially the Cubs, Brewers, Bears, and Packers. He also loved to visit with his many dear friends. Paul was also a member of the American Legion Post #41.
Paul is survived by many special nieces, nephews, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by brothers Jerome (Pat) Koch, Bud (Leah) Koch, and Bob Koch, and by a sister Mary Gossens.
The funeral liturgy for Paul will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Full military honors will follow the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
