Mrs. Elwood Hopfensperger [Joan Wichman] Rt. 1 Seymour, Wisconsin
The Lord has taken our loved one away, to free her from her pain. Her love has filled the hearts of many, for us it will remain. J oan, age 50, passed away at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 1985, following a courageous 13 year battle with cancer. She was born February 12, 1935, in Seymour. Joan was a loving wife, devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and an all around special person. She will be deeply and sadly missed by everyone, especially her famil and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Elwood, with wom she had been married for 32 years; two daughters and a son in-law; Marsha and Steven Hendrickson, Appleton, and Deanne Hopfensperger, at home, and her fiance, Rober Abel, Menasha; a son and daughter in-law, Bruce and Cathy Hopfensperger, Seymour; four granchildren, Justin and Candace Hendrickson, and B.J. and Andy Hopfensperger; her mother and step-father, Vera and Irvin Herzfeldt, Appleton; a mother in-law, Valesca Hopfensperger, Menasha; a maternal Grandmother, Louise Krueger, Appleton; and two brothers and sisters in-law, Kenneth and Joyce Wichman, Appleton, and Wesley and Audrey Wichman, Littleton, Colorado. She was further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Hopfensperg; and her father, Edwin Wichman.
The complete funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 1985, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., with the Rev. R.A. Pogram officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Thursday until the time of service. A memorial fund is being established.
