John P. Hoffmann, 2515 S. Telulah Ave., Age 72, died unexpectedly at 11:45 a.m. Friday, April 10, 1987. He was born Febuary 14, 1915 in Greenville, and prior to moving to Appleton four years ago he had been a resident of Darboy since 1954. Mr. Hoffman was a carpenter and belonged tothe Carpenter Local No. 955. He was a World War II Army Veteran having served in Europe where he received the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Mr. Hoffman was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church, Darboy.
Survivors include his wife, Eugenia " Jean" (Hopfensperger) Hoffmann, to whom he had been married 41 years; a daughter and son-in-law; Nancy and Dennis Welhouse, Hollandtown; four sons and three daughters-in-law; Dennis and Kathy Hoffmann, Kaukauna; William and Judy Hoffmann, Thomas and Yun Cha Hoffmann, all of Appleton; Kenneth Hoffmann, Combined Locks; 13 grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Agatha Hoffmann, Appleton; a sister, Gertrude Brusso, Appleton; a sister-in-law, Ruth Hoffmann, Appleton; and a mother-in-law; Valesca Hopfensperger, Menasha. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
The complete funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday April 13, 1987 at the Holy Angels Catholic Church, Darboy with the Rev. Elroy Reimer officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Angels Cemetery, Darboy. Friends may call at the Wichmanns Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday until the cortege leaves for the church. The prayer and scripture service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established..
