    • Michael E. Jansen, age 68, of Weyauwega, passed away into God's care on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. Mike underwent emergency surgery but died from a massive brain hemorrhage. He was born on March 4, 1947, in Little Chute, son of the late Sylvester and Coletta (Hartjes) Jansen. Mike lived his whole life in the Weyauwega area. He graduated from Weyauwega-Fremont High School; he then went on to spend three years serving his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for Madison Silo for two years then worked a year at Curwood in New London. Mike then worked for Tony Resch as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. In 1975 and 1976, he went to Alaska and worked on the Alaskan Pipeline. On his return to Wisconsin, he became a partner with Jerry Goetsch in "Hillside Farm Supply" for 21 years. In 1996 Mike built his own shop "Mike's Fix All and Metal Fabrication" from which he just retired. In 1969, he was united in marriage to Mary Collar at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in the Town of Lebanon. He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega.

      He is survived by his wife Mary of 46 years; children: Christopher and Kelly (Vareck) Jansen; Melissa (Clint) Price; five grandchildren: Courtney and Taylor Price, Madison, Levi and Piper Jansen; sisters: Janet Bemis, Fond du lac; Marlene Prahl, Neenah; Pat (Warren) Mielke, Tustin; Rose (Bill) Wall, Phoenix, AZ; Debbie (Mike) Flaig, Green Bay; brothers: Curly (Claude) Jansen, Waupaca; Tony (Joanne) Jansen, Weyauwega; Jack Jansen, Weyauwega; Paul Jansen, New London; sisters-in-law: Barb (Wayne) Jansen, Waupaca; Pat Anunson, New London; Dolores Collar, Waupaca; Donna (Steve) Besaw, Waupaca; Katie (Fiancé Greg) Weiland, New London; Genny Collar, Weyauwega; brother-in-law: George Montgomery, Weyauwega. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

      Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law: Francis and Eileen Collar; his brothers: Wayne and David Jansen; sister: Mary (Larry) Hansen; sister-in-law: Sue Montgomery; and brother-in-law: Dale Collar.

      The Memorial Mass for Mike will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at noon, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega with Fr. Amalraj Roche officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
