    • Bernadette "Bernie" Barbara Mueller left this world to be with her Lord early on Sunday morning, August 30, 2015. Bernie was born in July of 1928 in Appleton, to Peter and Corinne (Goerl) Mueller. She attended school at St Joseph's Grade School and graduated from Appleton High School in 1945. She was a lifelong member of St Joseph's Parish in Appleton where she volunteered for many decades.

After graduation from high school, Bernie worked at The Treasure Box gift shop. Her employer there was Mrs. J. whom she greatly admired and respected. When Bernie left The Treasure Box, she went to work at Zwicker Knitting Mills as a receptionist. She was praised for the professional, welcoming and warm manner she greeted people with in person or on the phone.

Bernie was very involved with her family and was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. She also loved to play golf, lose herself in a good book, and travel. Her travels took her to many interesting places, both domestic and international.

Bernie was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Margaret (Raymond) Look and Ann (Eugene) Van Zeeland, and her longtime friend George Engel.

Bernie is survived by her nieces and nephews; Jim (Catherine) Look, Pete Van Zeeland, Chuck (Marian) Look, Kay Van Zeeland, Trish (Axel) Van Zeeland Cabrera, Joe Van Zeeland and Kathryn Look.

The funeral liturgy for Bernie will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street in Appleton with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM, Cap. officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends directly at the church on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until the hour of the service. For more information or to share a memory of Bernie, please visit www.wichmannfargo.com. It was Bernie's wish that a memorial fund benefitting St. Joseph Parish be established.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Emerald Valley for their outstanding and compassionate care, as well as everyone at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Heartland Hospice. We will forever remember your kindness.
