      Kessler, Mark J.

      Mark Kessler, 47, Kaukauna, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009. He was born February 15, 1962, in Kaukauna, son of James George and Patricia Ann (Haen) Kessler. Mark was employed at the City of Appleton Water Department since April of 1983, currently as Operations Supervisor. He formerly served on the Little Chute Water Commission. Mark loved old cars, country music and camping with his family. He was artistic, and enjoyed painting. Mark was a U.S. Navy veteran and submariner. He served on the USS Batfish Nuclear Submarine. Mark was the world's greatest son, brother, father and grandfather.

      Mark is survived by his parents, James George (Pat) Kessler, Kaukauna; grandmother, Hazel Haen, Kaukauna; two daughters: Jennifer Kessler, Milwaukee; Katie Kessler, Appleton and special friend Andrew Mohrlok; a son, Tyler James Kessler, Menasha; stepdaughter, Tara Wohlrabe, Orlando, FL; a very special grandson, Noah Mohrlok; the mothers of his children: Paula (Heindel) Jacobs and Jean Kessler; three sisters: Kim (Steve) Rohan, Appleton; Karen (Keith) Merkatoris, De Pere; Kathy Stock, Kaukauna; nieces and nephews: Mati, Morgan, Gorman and Marshall; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

      He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Carl and Elizabeth Kessler, Bernard Haen.

      Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2009, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute, with Fr. David Funk, O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of the mass. Full military honors will be performed by the U.S. Navy and the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258, Little Chute. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Mark's children.
