    • Todd G. Verbruggen, Kaukauna, age 55, died unexpectedly Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was born in Appleton on August 28, 1957 to John and Elizabeth "Betty" (Ebben) Verbruggen. Todd married Connie Gietman on September 16, 1989 at St. Paul's Parish, Combined Locks. His love for her was truly immeasurable. Together, they had two beautiful children, Kaitlyn and Peter, of whom Todd was most proud.Todd was a perfect gentleman. He always thought of others first and made everyone feel special. Todd loved spending time with his family and friends, especially boating with them on the Todd-Tanic. He enjoyed tending to and spending time in his yard. He always had a joke to share, delivered with a smirk on his face and a twinkle in his eye. Todd truly cherished every moment with all his customers. They were the highlight of his career.Together with his brother Jerry, he owned and operated Hollander's Pub and Grill (formerly Willie's Supper Club). Todd's earlier ventures included Thunder and Lightning, Pine Street Bar, and the Lincoln Inn.Todd is survived by his wife of 23 years, Connie; children: Kaitlyn Christine, attending UW Oshkosh, and Peter John, attending UW Milwaukee; parents: John and Betty Verbruggen; siblings: Mike (Paula), Chris (Terry) Eiting, Don (Diane), Jerry (Denise) and Anne (Chris) Minten; mother-in-law: Barbara Gietman; brother and sister-in-law: Dr. Thomas (Lori) Gietman and Jenni (Rick) Roberts. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and many friends.Todd was preceded in death by his father-in-law; Peter J. Gietman, Jr.; and cousins Lee "2-E" Verbruggen and Rick Ebben.Visitation will be held Monday, August 19, 2013 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St., Little Chute) beginning at 12:00 noon until a time of memory sharing at 3:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will follow at 5:00 pm on Monday at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St., Little Chute) with Rev. Ronald Belitz officiating. (Please meet directly at church.) The family will establish a memorial in Todd's name. Please note that Main Street is under construction.
